Local Agenda 21 and the Local Plan for Sustainable Development:
- Implements a new style of public management – ecosystemic management.
- Helps to create a flexible, adaptable and performant institutional framework that guarantees the implication of all members of the society or social agents interested in decision taking process, the fair access to the benefits of development activities, the management of conflict of interests and finding fair solution to these.
- Warrantees the local public authorities the financing of community development projects from the Structural Funds of the European Union.
- Creates the framework for financing local infrastructure projects.
- Implements al local and regional level the principles drawn up in the European Union Sustainable Developement Strategy (revised in 2006) and the National Strategy of Sustainable Development of Rmania (revised in 2008).
- Warrantees devoluted development.
- Creates the structures to follow up and evaluate the implementation of te Local Plans for Sustainable Development using sustainable development indicators.
